Allentown Art Museum Partnership

Celebrating Nearly Three Years of Partnership with the Allentown Art Museum! 🌟🎨

AAECS is proud to celebrating nearly three years of meaningful collaboration with the AAM, a partnership that has transformed the way we approach arts-integrated education. Together, we’ve worked to develop and implement innovative curricula that inspire our students, empower our teachers, and provide professional development opportunities for educators across the Lehigh Valley.

Central to this collaboration is our dedicated Community Engagement and Arts Integration Manager, Daniel Djuro-Goiricelaya, whose unwavering passion for arts education has driven these efforts. In addition to his work at our school, Mr. D actively extends his expertise to schools throughout the Allentown School District and the broader arts community, offering tools, curriculum, and support at no cost to organizations like Restoring Petals and the Arts Community of Easton.

As an Arts Commissioner of the Allentown Arts Commission, appointed by Mayor Tuerk, Mr. Djuro-Goiricelaya continues to champion the integration of arts into classrooms, enriching the educational experiences of countless students.

One of his most impactful projects is his community arts initiative, “El Patio de mi Casa,” which bridges the gap between local and global arts communities. Through this program, artists from New York and other cities connect with the Allentown community while participating in art residencies at his studio, La Casita de Bambú. This initiative not only brings fresh creative energy to our students but also strengthens the bonds between Allentown and the broader arts world.

We are immensely grateful to the AAM for their steadfast partnership and shared commitment to fostering a vibrant, creative educational system for Allentown. Together, we continue to inspire, uplift, and empower our students, teachers, and community.

Here’s to many more years of collaboration and to supporting Mr. D’s inspiring vision for a brighter, more connected future through the arts!
