Mission
The mission of AAECS, a model for arts-integrated education, supports all students attaining high academic achievement and artistic expression by enriching their standards-based elementary experience using a palette of arts-infused curriculum, as a foundation for their future growth.
Curriculum
Learning centers, part of our learning approach, are student centered, engaging activities that focus on a set of skills and deepen the students' knowledge. Students work alone, in pairs, or in small groups. Visit our Curriculum page to learn more.
Arts
All students participate in Art, Music, Dance, Theatre, Creative Movement and Library classes. Students have multiple opportunities to perform throughout the school year.

AAECS Spotlights
Professional Development Blends Arts & Science at Two Prestigious Institutions
Teachers recently participated in hands-on professional development themed “The Arts of Science.” At the Da Vinci Science Center, educators explored ways to apply Pennsylvania’s STEELS Standards through interactive lessons, while the Allentown Art Museum offered activities blending art and science, from stained glass to sculpture. These experiences left teachers inspired and equipped with creative strategies to bring curiosity, imagination, and confidence into their classrooms.

Celebrating nearly 3 years of partnership with the Allentown Art Museum! Together, we’ve worked to develop and implement innovative curricula that inspire our students, empower our teachers, and provide professional development opportunities for educators across the Lehigh Valley.

Our 4th and 5th grade Visual Arts Majors had the incredible opportunity to visit the Lehigh Valley University Galleries to learn about and celebrate the life and work of the extraordinary Nellie Mae Rowe.
